Corvette to Be Raffled at President's Dinner

Camarillo, Calif., September 5, 2006 – Members of the community may participate in a raffle for a new 2007 red Chevrolet Corvette, to be raffled by the California State University Channel Islands Foundation at its 7th annual President’s Dinner Saturday, October 7, at the Air Force One Pavilion of the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library.

Individuals who purchase tickets at $50 each do not have to be present at the event to win the Corvette. Raffle tickets are available at http//:www.csuci.edu/giving/documents/PD06_Raffle.pdf or by calling the CSUCI Foundation at 805/437-8916.

In addition to the Corvette, donated by Santa Paula Chevrolet, attendees at the CSUCI President’s Dinner may participate in a live auction, featuring a trip to a Las Vegas jewelry show donated by Van Gundy & Sons Jewelers; a cooking class and dinner presented by Capistrano’s executive chef Peter Maher; and a special VIP foursome at the 2007 CSUCI Dolphin Classic Golf Tournament.


The event also includes a bazaar, featuring items such as handcrafted jewelry, apparel, accessories, and pottery. In addition, guests will tour Air Force One and enjoy dinner and dancing to popular local musical group, Sharkey and the Babes. One of the highlights is the presentation of the prestigious Robert J. Lagomarsino Award for community leadership, named in honor of the Ventura native, former United States congressman, and longtime friend of the University.

The CSUCI President’s Dinner is the premier fund-raising event of the year for the university. The title sponsor for the event is Bank of America.
