Where to Research a Career

Go to www.eureka.org and click Sign Up.

  1. Under Student/Clients enter Site ID Code X123WKC and click Next.
  2. Complete the personal information form.
  3. Double click on your counselor’s/instructor’s name, if listed. Click Next.
  4. Choose a log-in name and password you will remember.
  1. Assess your skills, values and interests.
  2. Look for information on careers that match.
  3. Research job outlook and earnings potential.
  4. Find out what colleges provide the training you need for this career.
  5. Allow at least one hour for this program.
Career Cruising

Go to www.careercruising.com and enter:

  1. Username: csu
  2. Password: cislands
  1. Assess your skills, values and interests.
  2. Suggest careers to explore.
  3. Provide information about careers.
  4. Provide job outlook and earnings potential.
  5. Tell what colleges provide the training you need for this career.
  6. This program is easier but less deep than Eureka.
Internet Sites

  1. CDS has binders with career websites, such as "what can I do with a major in….?", and places to find out about companies that hire your career interest.
  2. Use an internet search engine (such as Yahoo, Google, Alta Vista or HotBot) and search for key works, such as "BioTech+careers".
