Instructions of creating a Wimba classroom in your Blackboard course

Creating a Wimba room in Blackboard course

There are two ways of creating a Wimba classroom to your Blackboard course.

Option one:

  1. Login to your Blackboard course
  2. Control Panel -> locate one of the areas you want to create a Wimba room

  3. Select Wimba Classroom from the drop-down menu -> go

Option Two:

  1. Click Communication link on the course homepage

Room and Media Settings

When you create a new Wimba Classroom, think about what type of room it will be

  • A room used mostly for live instruction – synchronously
    • You can use a single Wimba room for multiple sessions. Using folders to organize session content
  • A room used mostly for the creation of archives –asynchronously
    • The room is used exclusively by the instructor for the archived lectures. The room is closed to students but the archives are made available as needed
  • A room in which many users may be presenters
